Kids of Jidd Special School run by Thane Municipal Corporation had a blast during their day trip organised onboard Mumbai Maiden Cruise ship which is anchored at the Bandra – Worli Sealink.
21 kids accompanied by their guardians and teachers at the Bandra jetty on Saturday morning.
The kids have been excited about their visit since we announced it to them, and we are so happy to offer them this experience – which would have been impossible, had it not been for the Thane Municipal Corporation and Sanjeev Agarwal of Mumbai Maiden who made this a reality for the kids,” said Archana Shete, Principal Jidd Special School.Â
Initially awed by the sea, the kids slowly turned and twisted around in their seat as they took in the morning mist enveloping the coast and most importantly the view of the Bandra-Worli Sealink which stood majestically in the backdrop giving the Mumbai Maiden anchored around it a very surreal look. Once onboard the ship they moved in around the various decks of the ship, and once at the upper deck they let their guard down – dancing, clapping, singing and making merry.
“It is an absolutely wonderful feeling to see the joy on the faces of these kids, the laughter and shout out of thank you overwhelmed me and we feel more determined to make the experience for our visitors a one of a kind unique one.” Said Sanjeev Agarwal, CEO Mumbai Maiden Cruise.
“I am also grateful to  Mr Sanjiv Jaiswal, Honourable Commissioner of Thane Municipal Corporation, Mr Rajdekar and Mr Joshi for their continuous support and guidance to make this event as reality.” continued Sanjeev Agarwal.
“The experience of the ship is meant to offer a wholesome family experience and seeing the kids enjoy themselves and let their guard down, reinstates Mumbai Maiden’s objective for being the most unique and holistic experience in leisure and entertainment”, added Twinkle Sehgal, Brand Ambassador of Mumbai Maiden who was seen interacting with the kids and the members of the corporation.
The navigation deck was their favouirte, the kids looked around the little, but very meaningful enclosure from where the Captain steers the ship in the sea. He turned out to be somewhat of an hero, as the kids surrounded Captain Sameer listening with awe and enthusiasm as he explained the workings of the ship and narrated the importance of safety and other measures available onboard to the kids.
The announcement of soon starting services in the Thane Gaimukh Creek was received with loud shouts of appreciation.
