Noted celebrity Suniel Shetty participated in the special workshop organised by the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) on the eve of ‘International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking’. The event was held at Karavmeer Sports Complex at Andheri Mumbai.
He spoke passionately about the cause and urged people to not fall into the pit of drug addiction and urged them to lead a healthy lifestyle. Expressing his views Suniel Shetty further reinstated that drug addicts should not be treated as hardcore criminals or stigmatized, rather our society should have a sympathetic approach towards them and help them to come out of such life threatening habits. He also emphasised sports and outdoor activities help vent physical and mental health besides improving the confidence and skills of an individual.
Present along with Suniel Shetty were Mr. Rajesh F. Dhabre, Narcotics Commisioner, Central Bureau Of Narcotics and Dr. Sarika Dakshikar, Associate Professor at Gokuldas Tejpal Hospital, Mumbai.
Mr. Rajesh F. Dhabre, Narcotics Commisioner (Central Bureau Of Narcotics) said, “Today we had a very comprehensive workshop where we covered all aspects of drug addictions and drug trafficking – from legal and health consequences. Through such workshops, our main motive is to decrease the crime rate in the society and help people understand the consequences of drug addiction. We have taken a pledge to work towards making India a drug addiction free society”.
