
The third in the Vande Bharat series, the Gandhinagar-Mumbai train was inaugurated on 30th September 2022 by PM Narendra Modi.
Running to a full house, six days a week, barring Sundays, the Gandhinagar (Gujarat) to Mumbai (Maharashtra) Vande Bharat Express is a hit with Travellers between the adjoining states.
The train is designed with an advanced state-of-the-art safety feature including indigenously developed Train Collision Avoidance System (KAVACH). Besides this passenger are offered a myriad of superior aircraft-like travel experience. There are 16 coaches (Chair Car and Executive Chair Car compartments). Every coach class have reclining seats, while the executive coaches have a 180-degree rotating seats. Each of these coaches are equipped with 32″ screens for passenger information. and there is wi-fi content on-demand.
The Air-condition system is designed to provide 15% energy efficiency. For the physically challenged, there are a few wheelchairs friendly assistance like seat handles with seat numbers in Braille letters.
The Gandhinagar-Mumbai Express train covers a distance of about 540 kms in 6 hrs 30 mins. It can travel at a speed of 160kms /per hrs in 129 seconds.
Train Number 20901 departs from Mumbai Central (MMCT) at 6:10 am and reaches Gandhinagar Capital at 12:30 pm.
On the return journey, Vande Bharat Express Train No.20902 departs from Gandhinagar Capital at 2:05pm and reaches Mumbai Central at 8:35pm.
